Got my camera cleaned - Great job Atik!

Postby Zaphod » Sun Aug 14, 2011 2:00 pm

Just before I went on holiday, I approached Atk about cleaning my 383L+, it had a horrible kidney shaped dust bunny from day 1, and obviously had also accumulated some more over time too. So about three weeks ago I sent it off. It came back on Thursday and I tried it out yesterday as part of re-calibrating for flats with the Avian Starseeker.

What a great job they did and so this is a big thankyou to Steve Chambers and his team at Atik for a job excellently done and at no charge, service of the highest quality.

Results presented here,

...and following it taken with the new scope

Well pleased, looking forward to a great autumn now.

That's good news Chris :th:

I have wonder how the dust gets in there :scr: , is the CCD on the not in a sealed chamber like the SX cameras ?

Yes Dave, it is in a sealed chamber so the object that gave me the kidney shaped shadow was in there from the beginning when I bought it. The other shadows i'm sure were on the window.
