Comet Lovejoy

Hi

I was up all night doing some deep sky imaging when this thing began to appear over the hill behind my house. So I scambelled up the hill through lots of thick grass and got a few shots. The tail is much brighter than I thought it would be.

Canon 550D ISO 1600, 10secs

That really does 'capture the moment' Steve :th:

Good job you are in NZ and not Oz, or you might have thought twice about scrambling through the long grass in the dark *WOR*

Too true. I had a Brazilian friend over once and he couldn't beleive I would walk up this hill in shorts and bare feet to view the stars. He used to walk behind me with walking boots on smashing the grass with a stick as he walked.
