For some reason I was sitting at the computer typing in goodness knows what when it suddenly hit me how to take those "Little Planet" pictures. So I went outside and tried to get the New Forest Observatories in a "Little Planet" setting. Here's the result:
Pulsar 7 foot dome, C11 plus Hyperstar III, SXVF-M25C and guider, 2 x Sky 90, Megrez 80, AstroTrac and Canon 40D, many tons of other bits. http://www.newforestobservatory.com/
Paul A Brierley. Observing Co-Ordinator, Macclesfield Astronomical Society Cheshire. Celestron C9.25, Losmandy G11/Gemini L4, Wm Optics ZS66sd, QHY5, Atik16ic, modified Canon 1000D. My Blog http://paulsdeepskywanderings.blogspot.co.uk/

I had a play with this in the distant past and failed badly. From memory you need to take a 360 degree (cylindrical) panorama, which then gets transformed by a function in photoshop (or similar elsewhere) to make the planet.
